1. Install or Update Driver
"Bluetooth driver error" may be caused by a Windows driver that is incompatible with the Bluetooth device. All hardware devices require a driver to communicate with Windows. Sometimes, Windows has a preinstalled driver for a specific hardware. That is why some Bluetooth devices are plug-in and play.
However, in this situation, the Bluetooth device is detected automatically by Windows but the pre-installed driver is not compatible with the Bluetooth device.
To fix this error, install a Windows Driver compatible with the Bluetooth device and the Windows version you are using. Please see below for the instructions.
Option 1.
- Right-click Windows Start, select Device Manager.
- Expand Other Device then right-click Unknown Device and select Properties.
- Click the Details tab, use Hardware ID as a keyword to search for the driver on the Web.
- Download and install the appropriate driver for your Bluetooth and Windows version.
Option 2.
- Make sure you are connected to the internet.
- Right-click Windows Start, select Device Manager.
- Expand Other Device then right-click Unknown Device and select Update Driver.
- If you have already installed a driver and you would like to update it. Click the Bluetooth to expand, right-click the Bluetooth and select Update Driver.
- Select Search automatically for updated driver software. Windows will search and install the driver for you.
