How do I fix Directv Code 8003?

The Directv code 8003 error typically happens when the user's receiver is unable to communicate with the satellite. In some cases, it can also be caused by a problem with the user's account or service.

1. Check all connections from the TV to the receiver

  1. Verify that all cables are properly plugged in.

  3. Plug the receiver back in by pushing the cord in to the wall.
  4. Wait 30 seconds, and then press the power button to turn the receiver back on.
  5. If the code 8003 still appears, try resetting the receiver by pressing the power button and the reset button at the same time.

3. Reset your receiver by pressing and holding the POWER button on the front of the receiver for 5 seconds

  1. On the front of the receiver, locate the POWER button.
  2. Press and hold the POWER button for 5 seconds to reset the receiver.
  3. The screen will go blank and the receiver will restart.

4. If you have a Genie DVR, check to see if the green light on the front is blinking

  1. First, make sure that the Genie is properly plugged into an electrical outlet and your TV.
  2. Next, press the "Menu" button on the Genie remote and select "System Setup."
  3. Under "TV Functions," make sure that "Directv Program Code" is set to "8003."
  4. If the code is set to 8003, press the " green button on the front of the Genie to reset it.

5. Call 1-800-DIRECTV and speak to a representative

  1. Dial 1-800-DIRECTV, and then enter your service code.
  2. Speak to a representative, and they will help you troubleshoot your issue.
  3. If the issue is resolved, the representative will offer to send you a receipt.
