  12. In the "Universal Serial Bus controllers" window, click the "Intel(R) 82801G (ICH8 Family) USB Universal Host Controller" button.
  13. In the "Intel(R) 82801G (ICH8 Family) USB Universal Host Controller" window, click the "Install" button.
  14. Click the "Finish" button.
  15. Close the "Intel(R) 82801G (ICH8 Family) USB Universal Host Controller" window.
  16. Close the "Device Manager" window.

5. Try a different USB device

  1. Open the Device Manager.
  2. Right-click on the USB controller that is showing the error code and select "Update Driver Software."
  3. If the "Update Driver Software" option is not available, then the USB controller may not have been installed correctly. In that case, you will need to install the USB controller.
  4. Follow the instructions that are displayed on the screen.
  5. If the error code still persists, then you will need to replace the USB controller.
