How do I fix the AS-1041 error code in Fortnite?

1. Restart your computer

  1. Click the "Start" button.
  2. Type "cmd" into the Start search bar.
  3. Right-click on "cmd" and select "Run as administrator."
  4. Enter "shutdown -r now" at the prompt.
  5. Restart your computer.

2. Update your graphics drivers

  1. Open Device Manager by clicking on the Start button, typing "device manager" in the Start Search box, and clicking on Device Manager.
  2. Expand Display adapters and right-click on the graphics adapter that you want to update.
  3. Click Update Driver.
  4. Click on the Browse my computer for driver software button.
  5. Click on the Let me pick from a list of devices on my computer button.
  6. Select the graphics adapter that you want to update and click on the Next button.
  7. Click on the Search for hardware that is compatible with my driver software button.
  8. Click on the Show results button.
  9. Click on the Install button.
  10. When the installation is finished, click on the Finish button.

3. Verify your game files

  1. Open fortnite.exe in Notepad
  2. Locate the following line: <version>
  3. Replace <version> with the following: 10.4.1
  4. Save the file and close Notepad
  5. Open up fortnite.ini in Notepad
  6. Locate the following line: bDisableHardwareCursor
  7. Change the value to 0
  8. Save the file and close Notepad
  9. Open up Fortnite.exe
  10. Click on the "Options" button
  11. Click on the "Save Options" button
  12. Locate the "Paths" tab
  13. Under the "System" section, click on the "Browse" button
  14. Navigate to the directory where you saved fortnite.ini and fortnite.exe
  15. Click on the "OK" button
  16. Click on the "Play" button

  1. Run the game in compatibility mode
  2. Disable your antivirus software
  3. Add an exception for Fortnite in your firewall
  4. Run the game as an administrator
