The F2 error code on a GE oven indicates that the oven has exceeded its maximum temperature. This can happen for a number of reasons, such as if the oven is left on for too long or if the temperature setting is too high. If the F2 error code persists, it is recommended that you call a service technician to troubleshoot the problem.

1. Check the oven sensor and make sure it is connected properly

  1. First, open up the oven door and remove the screws that are holding the back panel in place.
  2. Next, locate the oven sensor and make sure that it is connected properly.
  3. Once you have verified that the sensor is connected properly, replace the back panel and screw it back into place.
  4. Finally, turn on the oven and see if the error code is still displayed.

2. Check the wiring to the oven sensor and make sure it is not damaged

  1. Unplug the oven from the power outlet and remove the back panel to access the wiring.
  2. Visually inspect the wiring to the oven sensor for any damage.
  3. If the wiring appears to be damaged, replace it with new wiring.
  4. Reattach the back panel and plug the oven back into the power outlet.
  5. Turn the oven on and test it to see if the F2 error code has been fixed.

3. Replace the oven sensor

  1. First, identify the problem. If your oven is displaying an "F2" error code, this means that the oven sensor is not working correctly.
  2. Next, locate the oven sensor. The sensor is located in the oven cavity, near the back wall.
  3. Once you have located the sensor, disconnect the electrical connection.
  4. Next, remove the two screws that secure the sensor in place.
  5. Now, take the new sensor and connect it in the same manner. Make sure that the electrical connection is secure.
  6. Finally, replace the two screws and turn on the oven. The "F2" error code should now be gone.

4. Check the oven control board and make sure it is not damaged

  1. Unplug the oven from the power outlet.
  2. Remove the oven control board from the oven.
  3. Inspect the oven control board for any physical damage.
  4. If the oven control board is damaged, replace it with a new one.
  5. Plug the oven back into the power outlet.
  6. Turn on the oven and test it to see if the error code is still displayed.

5. Replace the oven control board

  1. Unplug the oven from the power outlet.
  2. Remove the screws that secure the control panel to the oven.
  3. Carefully pull the control panel away from the oven, being careful not to damage the wires.
  4. Unplug the wires from the old control board and plug them into the new one.
  5. Secure the new control board to the oven with the screws.
  6. Plug the oven back in to the power outlet.
