The MapleStory Error Code is an error that occurs when you try to play the game and it doesn’t work. The error code can be caused by many things, but the most common reason is because of an outdated or corrupted game file. When this happens, you need to update or reinstall the game to fix the problem.
1. Check for updates and run the game as an administrator
- Open the Google Play Store on your device.
- Search for "maplestory" and tap on the first result.
- On the main page of the Play Store, tap on the three lines in the top left corner.
- On the next page, tap on the three lines in the top right corner.
- Select "Settings" from the list on the left.
- Select "Security" from the list on the right.
- Select "Update system" from the list on the left.
- Select "Check for updates" from the list on the right.
- Tap on the blue "Download" button next to the "Software update" option.
- Tap on the "Install" button next to the "Update" option.
- When the update is complete, tap on the "OK" button.
- Return to the main screen of the Play Store and tap on the three lines in the top left corner.
- On the next page, tap on the three lines in the top right corner.
- Select "Games" from the list on the left.
- Select "Maplestory" from the list on the right.
- Tap on the blue "Download" button next to the "Maplestory" option.
- Tap on the "Install" button next to the "Maplestory" option.
- When the update is complete, tap on the "OK" button.
- Restart your device if it is not running.
- Launch the game and check for any updates.
- If there are any updates, tap on the "Update" button and install them.
- If there are no updates, tap on the "Play" button.
- If the game still crashes, try reinstalling the game.
2. Delete your MapleStory folder and reinstall the game
Delete your MapleStory folder and reinstall the game in order to fix maplestory error code E0801:
- Log into your MapleStory account.
- Click the "Game" menu and select "Storage."
- Locate the MapleStory folder that you would like to delete and click the "Delete" button.
- Click the "Yes" button when prompted to confirm the deletion.
- Reinstall the game by clicking the "Install" button on the "Game" menu and selecting the MapleStory installation file.
- Enter your login information and click the "Login" button.
- Click the "Play" button and enjoy your restored MapleStory account!
3. Run the game in compatibility mode
- Click on the "Settings" icon in the top left corner of the game window
- In the "Settings" window, click on the "Compatibility" tab
- Select the "Run in compatibility mode" radio button and click on the "OK" button
- Click on the "Play" button to start the game in compatibility mode

- If the game still crashes after following the steps in the guide, then you will need to reinstall the game.
4. Temporarily disable your antivirus and firewall
- Open your antivirus software and disable it
- Disable your firewall if it is enabled
- Reset your browsers (if necessary)
- Sign out of your maplestory account
- Enter your maplestory account information again
- Launch the game and try to connect
- If the problem persists, please contact customer service.
5. Verify your game files
- Launch the game and sign in.
- Go to the "My Games" tab and select your game.
- On the right side of the window, select the "Verify Files" button.
- Select the appropriate files to verify and click the "Verify Files" button.
- If the files are verified, you will receive a message stating that the files were successfully verified. If the files are not verified, you will receive a message stating that the files are not verified.
- To fix the maplestory error code, you will need to correct the errors that were found.
