The Maytag 5d code is an error code that indicates that the washer is not draining properly. This can happen for a number of reasons, such as a clogged drain, a problem with the pump, or a problem with the control board. If the code appears, it is important to check the drain and pump to make sure they are working properly. If the problem persists, it may be necessary to replace the control board.

1. Check the door seal and make sure it is clean and free of debris

  1. Look for any cracks or tears in the door seal. This will allow water and debris to get inside the machine, which could cause it to not work properly.
  2. Clean the seal with a damp cloth or vacuum cleaner. Make sure to remove any debris and dust.
  3. Re-install the door seal if it is not damaged.

2. Make sure the door is closed tightly

  1. Check if the door is properly closed by inserting a thin object between the door and the frame. If the object is able to move freely, the door is not properly closed.
  2. Use the handle to close the door as tightly as possible.

3. Check the drain hose and make sure it is not kinked or blocked

  1. Open the front cover of the dishwasher.
  2. Look for drainage hoses on each side of the dishwasher.
  3. If the drain hoses are kinked or blocked, use a plunger to unblock the hose.
  4. Check the dishwasher for any debris or large objects that may have gotten caught in the hose.
  5. If necessary, use a vacuum cleaner to remove any debris or objects.
  6. Reconnect the drain hoses.

4. Run a diagnostic test to check for any error codes

  1. Go to the "Settings" tab on your Maytag 5D and select "Diagnostics."
  2. On the "Diagnostics" screen, scroll down to the "Status" section and select "Check for Errors."
  3. On the "Check for Errors" screen, select the "Diagnostics" tab and then select "Check for Error Codes."
