Error code -43 is a type of Mac error code that occurs when there is a problem with the file path. This can happen if the file path is too long, or if there are too many characters in the file name. This can also happen if the file path is not properly formatted.

1. Check the permissions on the file or folder you're trying to access

  1. Open an administrative command prompt.
  2. Type the following command and press Enter: ls -la
  3. You'll see a list of files and folders in the directory you're working in.
  4. To see the permissions for a file or folder, use the following command: ls -lah
  5. The permissions will appear in one of the following modes: -rw-r--r-- -rw-rw-rw -rwxr-xr-x
  6. To change the permissions for a file or folder, use the following command: chmod a-x <file or folder>

2. Check to see if the file or folder is hidden

  1. Open Windows Explorer.
  2. Navigate to the file or folder that you are trying to access and double-click on it.
  3. If the file or folder is not visible, then it is likely that the file or folder is hidden.
  4. To unhide the file or folder, navigate to the file or folder and right-click on it.
  5. Select "Unhide Files and Folders."

3. Try accessing the file or folder from another computer or user account

  1. Open File Explorer on the other computer or user account and navigate to the file or folder that is error code -43.
  2. Right-click on the file or folder and select "Accessibility Options."
  3. Click on the "Turn on Advanced Accessibility" button.
  4. Navigate to the "File System" tab and select "Windows File System."
  5. Click on the "File System Level Security" button.
  6. Click on the "Add a User or Group" button.
  7. Enter the username and password of the user or group that you want to have access to the file or folder.
  8. Click on the "OK" button.
  9. The user or group will now have access to the file or folder.
