1. Restart your computer

  1. If you are using a desktop or laptop computer, turn it off and then back on.

  3. In the System Configuration window, click on the Startup tab.
  4. In the Startup items list, click on the Restart button.
  5. In the dialog box that appears, click on the Restart button.

  5. Once the error has been fixed, reboot your computer.

4. Run a malware scan

  1. Open the Control Panel.
  2. Click on System and Security.
  3. Click on the Windows Update icon.
  4. Click on the Check for updates button.
  5. If there are any updates, click on the Install updates button.
