How to Fix Facebook Error 504?

Facebook error 504 is an error code that occurs when the Facebook server is down or is not responding properly. This error code can happen for a variety of reasons, such as the server being overloaded with traffic, or there may be a problem with the server itself.

1. Restart your computer and then log back in to Facebook

  1. Click on the "Start" button on your computer.
  2. Type in "cmd" (without the quotes) and press Enter.
  3. Type in "net stopfb" (without the quotes) and press Enter.
  4. Type in "net startfb" (without the quotes) and press Enter.
  5. Type in "cmd" (without the quotes) and press Enter.
  6. Type in "net user facebook your_facebook_user_name" (without the quotes) and press Enter.
  7. Type in "net user facebook your_facebook_user_name /active:yes" (without the quotes) and press Enter.
  8. Type in "exit" (without the quotes) and press Enter.

2. Check your internet connection and make sure it is working properly

  1. Go to http://www.speedtest.net and test your internet connection.

  2. If the connection is working properly, check to see if you are getting the "Facebook Error 504" message.

  3. If you are getting the "Facebook Error 504" message, try to fix the issue by following the steps below.

  4. Go to www.facebook.com and sign in.

  5. Click on the "Settings" button in the top-right corner of the main screen.

  6. Under "General," click on the "Connections" tab.

  7. Under "Network Type," make sure that you are using the correct network type (e.g. "Wi-Fi").

  8. Under "Network Settings," make sure that the "IP Address" and "Port" are correct.

  9. If everything is correct, click on the "OK" button.

  10. If the "Facebook Error 504" message is still appearing, try the following steps:

  11. Click on the "Menu" button in the top-left corner of the main screen.

  12. Under "Tools," click on the "Error Reporting" button.

  13. Under "Facebook Error 504," click on the "Report" button.

  14. Fill out the required information and click on the "Submit" button.

3. Clear your browser's cache and cookies

  1. Open your browser and go to www.facebook.com.
  2. On the main Facebook page, click on the three lines in the top-left corner of the screen.
  3. On the menu that appears, click on Settings.
  4. On the Settings page, click on the Privacy tab.
  5. On the Privacy tab, under Cookies and other info, click on the Clear Cookies and Clear Cache buttons.
  6. Click on the OK button to confirm that you want to clear your browser's cache and cookies.
  7. Close your browser.
  8. If you experience any problems after clearing your browser's cache and cookies, please contact your computer administrator.

4. Contact Facebook's customer support

  1. Log into your Facebook account.
  2. Click on the three lines in the top left corner of the screen.
  3. Select Help and Support.
  4. Under 'How can I fix my problems?' select Facebook Error 504.
  5. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and select Contact Facebook.
  6. Enter your email address and select Submit.
  7. A confirmation message will be sent to your email address.
  8. Click on the link in the email to open a new page in your browser.
  9. On the new page, click on the orange message that says 'Facebook is unable to process your request at this time.'
  10. Click on the link that says 'Send a message to Facebook support.'
  11. Enter your message in the form and click on Send.
